Encoder for Dual Motor Control and PFC Kit

I am working with the Dual Motor Control and PFC Kit and I need a quadrature encoder with 3 channels (A, B and I) to create the speed loop with a sensor. What quadrature encoder recommend me? The file MultiAxis HW Guide does not specify an encoder and I do not know what is best for the motor (Anaheim Automation BLY172S-4000, shaft diameter 5 mm). I would like to work with speeds around 1000 rpm.

In addition, to work with the motor and encoder, will I need Anaheim Automation coupler CPL-HC075-5mm-5mm?

Finally, I have seen in many encoder datasheets that the third channel is called Z or N. Is this the channel I?

this is the one we have used for those motors, from quantum devices:

HR12-2048-8-A-H-C-H-A

mating cable part number will be 2085AG019

for the 2MTRPFCKIT you will also need to add pull-up / down resistors like attached

first of all, thanks for the information.

However, we need to buy the encoder from Farnell (www.farnell.com) or RS (www.rs-online.com). In addition, we are not interested in adding resistors to pull up / down.

You know an encoder that I can buy from Farnell or RS?
