F29H850DM: Does TI provides functional safety collateral?

Part Number: F29H850DM

Hello,

We are referring F28x and F29x MCU's for our functional safety industrial application. When I referred C2000 academy page, I found some Functional safety collateral for F28x (F28P65x) MCU. There is no such mentioning in F29x section other than SSU and HSM. Does F29x have functional safety features and Collateral? Which one you recommend us for our functional safety (say SIL3) among F28x and F29x MCUs?

Reason for looking into F29x MCU's:

Architectual changes, mainly on RAM structure which is simple when compared to F28x
Byte addressable, which makes my application porting (from Cortex-M to C29x) easier.

Thanks for your prompt response.

At present I have some understanding on functional safety capabilities implemented on F28P65x. As I mentioned in my initial query, I wish to move to the F29x MCU. In this case, is there any document provided (may be after approval) for differentiating the Functional Safety features? I should I verify manually?

Hello Jagadish,

For our application F29P580DM5SPZSR is most suitable but this part number is not mentioned in TUV certificate Models list. Any specific reason for this? Can I still consider this part comes under TUV certified category since it is under F28P58x category?

Hi,

The Part numbers which are released to market are certified for this revision of the certificate. Later when all parts are released to market there will be updated certificate with all the part numbers listed.

Hi Prarthan, in the link I received, I can see SDK only for F29h85x. But I want the SDK and the relevant collateral for F29P580 also. Could you please do the needful?
