Error connecting to the target - Piccolo F2802xx

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, TMS320F2802

Hello,

we have a new HV Resonant LLC Developer’s Kit (TMS320C2000 with Piccolo-A F2802xx) just out of the box.
I've installed CCS 5.1 and controlSUITE.
I did everything as mentioned in the tutorial  'C2000 Getting Started with Code Composer Studio v5': http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/C2000_Getting_Started_with_Code_Composer_Studio_v5
But I didn't get any connection to the target.

My Error Code:
Error connecting to the target: (Error -1135 @ 0x0)
The emulator reported an error. Confirm emulator configuration and connections, reset the emulator, and retry the operation.

The GUI of the development kit TMDSHVRESLLCKIT_v1.0 works beside of that with no problems an I can establish a connection.

What can I do to establish a connection with CCS?

Thanks for your help!

  • Masi,

    Since you are able to connect the GUI, I don't think there is anything wrong with the C2000 device or the USB-JTAG circuitry.

    First, please make sure the C2000 device is properly powered, as indicated by a green LED on the controlCARD.  That is one way to get the error when trying to connect.

    Second, please make sure you have populated jumper J2 on the board.

    Regards,
    Daniel

  • Daniel,

    thanks for your reply.

    The LEDs on the Piccolo controlCARD with 12V DC input and no USB connection:
    LED1 -> green
    In the M3 section LED1 is green.

    After connecting the PC via USB:
    LED1 -> green
    LED2 -> red
    LED3 -> flashing red
    In the M3 section LED1 is green.
    In the M4 section LED1 is green.

    The Main-J2 jumper is closed.

    In the target configurations I choose the connection 'Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator' and the device TMS320F2802. I tried also other devices with TMS320F2802... but nothing works.

  • masi,

    LED3 should not flash red when Main-J2 jumper is closed.  Please connect USB to PC, then power the C2000 device.

    Regards,
    Daniel
