Error- XDS100V2 emulator with HV Motor control kit

Hello,

I am trying to use XDS100V2 emulator with HV Motor control kit. But error, " The target  Texas Instruments XDS100V1 USB Emulator _0/c28xx could not be found "  appears on the screen. Is it possible to use XDS100V2 emulator with this kit.  I know that  V1 emulator already  exist  on kit hardware but if its work I will use V2 emulator on my designed board jtag interface of which is the same as HV Motor control kit JTAG interface.  That is,  If XDS100V2 emulator is not work with HV Motor control kit, it will not also work with my board.

During connection of emulator I checked computer device maneger and there is no problem.

  • Hi Rasit,

What version of CCS are you using? You need to use CCSv4 or greater to get XDS100v2 support. CCSv3 only support XDS100v1.

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hi Rasit,

yes you can use the XDS100v2 with this kit.  This is supported.  What target setup have you tried? Ie target configuration?  Have you checked the drivers?  Have you installed C2000 and all necesary support in CCS?  (Ie for example if you are also switching to v5)

You see this with the evm as well?  Have you tried your own board?

  • Hi Lisa,

There are some point I didnt understand.

     - Should I connect XDS100V2 emulator output to directly micro JTAG pins. I mean, GND referans of the 14 pin connector should be same with micro Gnd.

    - My board JTAG interface schematic is the same as HV Motor control card  JTAG interface schematic
. In kit schematic 14 pin connector 5th pin is 3v3 supply. But I measure XDS100V2 5th pin it is value is not 3v3. Thats why isoleted devices ISO7240-42 dosent take 3v3 supply while connecting  XDS100V2 emulator and micro can not be programmed.

  • Hi Rasit,

so you figured out it was a power issue?  If you need help with the schematics and JTAG connect I would post the above question in the device forum as they will be better able to help.  I can move this thread there as well for you.
