Hi,
I am interested in purchasing the 2 channel dc/dc buck converter kit. Can I use the the xds100 emulator available on the USB docking station of the experimenter kit for emulation / programming?
The other emulators are expensive.
Raghu.

Raghu,
I have heard that some customers have been able to do this, although I have not confirmed it.
It may be worthwhile to consider some other emulators that are lower cost:

Brett,
I had purchased a F28069 experimenter kit in 2011. Does it have a xds100v1 or xds100v2?
I checked up with the inf file on the supported CD & found that they have described it as " Texas Instruments Inc. XDS100 Version 1.0 A'
& "Texas Instruments Inc. XDS100 Version 1.0 B". Apart from this enumeration info is there any how I can check the version.
From the wiki info I realise that only v2 has support for multiple device. When I plug my docking station it enumerates as two devices A & B.
Kind Regards
Raghu.
Raghu,
All Experimenter Kit "Docking Stations" contain a xds100v1 emulator. The FTDI chip that does the USB-to-JTAG bridge can also do USB-to-UART at the same time. The A channel is the USB-to-JTAG bridge and the B channel is the USB-to-UART bridge (which should get enumerated as a COM port by windows and can be confirmed through device manager).
Thank you,
Brett
Brett,
Will the free Licensed CCS4 that came along with my experimenter kit support this 3rd party (USB100V2) emulator?
Regards,
Raghu
Raghu,
Yes, these 3rd Party xds100v2 emulators will work with CCSv4.
Thank you,
Brett
Brett,
I checked up the price & found it to be lowest in Ti store.
In Ti store there seems to be 3 models. with 20pin & 14 pin connector.
The models are..
TMDSEMU100V2U-14T
TMDSEMU100V2U-ARM
TMDSEMU100V2U-20T
Can please suggest the right one for me?
Regards,
Raghu.
Raghu,
We use the 14-pin TI connector interface, so the -14T model should work for you.
Thank you,
Brett
