How can I check whether the reset state was from BOR?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28020

Dear,

Could you please let me know how can I check whether the reset state was from BOR?

Device: TMS320F28020DAT

Currently I do ESD test (IEC61000-4-2) for the TMS320F28020DAT board.
During ESD test, the TMS320F28020 have reset state.
I don't know why the TMS320F28020 have reset yet.

So far I guess the TMS320F28020 go to BOR reset state by ESD gun.
But I'm not sure how I can check whether the reset state was from BOR.

Can I check it from some CPU Register or pin state or other?

Best regards,
Okayama

  • I don't think there is a way to determine from registers.  I think your best bet is to scope XRSn.  If a BOR is caused by an "instantaneous" event, i.e. the condition which tripped the BOR is only momentary, then the time XRSn goes low should be typically around 600us per the datasheet parameter tw(RSL1)
