Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE
Hi there,
I need to use a TMDXDOCKH52C1 evaluation kit on a board which has a floating ground potential (anywhere between 50V to 400V or -50V to -400V) and I want to know if the ethernet port has a galvanic insulation included in it. I want to connect the board to a switch which has a normal ground potential.
I know that normally ethernet boards have a transformer which should be rated for 1.5kV, but I'm not sure if in this case TI used that transformer, and also if there isn't any other path which might bring problems in case of my application.
Also the same question I have for the LM3S9D92 Ethernet+OTG Evaluation Kits. I need to see which one will better fit my needs.
Thank you for your time.
P.S. The connection would be done over UTP (unshielded twisted pairs), or if I will use Shielded cable, i will be careful to cut the shield in advance and not allow it to touch or get close to the board/port.
