TMS320F2812 eZdsp

Expert 1800 points

Hi,

I am building a proto of 2812 controller card and could anyone let me know the significance of the symbol RN2A attached to the pin 44 (XZCS0AND1n) in the F2812 eZdsp schematics.  Similar symbol RN2B to RN2F is added on XZCS2n, XZCS6AND7n, XWEn, XRDn and XRnW.

Would wish to know if the unused pins could be left unconnected.

Please suggest.

thx

The RN2A through RN2F is the designator for the resistor pack used for series termination of the XINTF interface.  You will see similar structures on sheet 5 in coordinate D4 and D5.

I would recommend reading the Hardware Design Guidelines for TMS320F28xx and TMS320F28xxx DSCs (SPRAAS1) as it has some good information.

  • Thanks Brandon for the support.

The symbol mentions a value 33.

Does it mean I need to use a series resistor bank of 33 Ohms.  Could you confirm if my understanding is correct?.

    Thx

Yes, your understanding is correct.  The value of the each resistor in the resistor bank is 33 ohms.

  • Thanks a lot BrandonAzbell.
