CCS 3.3 opening a new project

Hello,

I am new to CCS 3.3 ( actually new to DSP )

If I create a new project

do I have to add include and library files manually ? also the .cmd files ?

Is there no automatic way to add this files when I select the CPU ?

2) why there is no "save as" for complete project ?

  • In CCS 3.3, you would need to add the linker command file and library files manually to the project. The include files need not be added manually but will be searched automatically in the directories specified by the "include search path (-i)" option specified in CCS for the project.

CCS v4 does a better job of automatically picking up the linker command file and runtime library when a c2000 device is selected.

With the "save as", are you looking to make a copy of the CCS project? If so,  you can do so by just making a copy of the .pjt file.

  • Hi Mehmet,

In CCSv3.3, include files are added automatically when you have #include "file.h" in your source file.  Be sure to set the include paths in the build options for your project though (right-click project, select "build options...", go to "Compiler tab" and under "preprocessor", fill out the include path where your include files can be found next to "Include Search Path (-i)" separated by semicolons.

With regards to project "Save-as", what you can do is - right-click on your project, and click on "Edit". Then when the PJT (project file) pops up,  you can go to "File->Save as..." and save your PJT file as a new name..

The best way to get started with projects is to go to the TI website -> go to the product folder of the device you are interested in, go down to Tools and Software, and download the <DEVICE FAMILY> C/C++ Header Files and Peripheral Examples. Once you download, go to the <DEVICE>_Examples directory and start playing with the example projects in CCS..

    Good luck
