Hi everyone. I have new pcb with TMX320F28069UPZT running at 80 MHz. surface temperature at the top of the device goes upto 20degC above ambient. Data sheet mentions phi j-t = 0.3 degC/w. which means that junction temperature is almost the same as the top surface temperature. Is this correct? Device is on external crystal.
These devices really run hot. The entire 4 layer board runs warm and surface temperature rise on board is almost 12degC.
Any suggestions?
Would I get the same result with a tms series device?
Is it ok to use this device at 50degC ambient?
