Hi,

We are in the process of using TMS320F28035 in an application where we need to measure frequency of the input signal. Frequency range of the signal will be 0-100Hz and voltage range will be 0-3.3V. Please let us know of any similar applications done using this processor and also any sample codes/ application notes for the same.

Also we are in the process of designing RS485 over modbus communication to a display unit from TMS320F28035 Microcontroller. Please let us know general design guidelines, dos & dont's etc. If possible, please forward us any relevant document for this.

wHey Jayaram,

For your first application, we have some ADC code exampes in ControlSuite at C:\TI\controlSUITE\device_support\f2803x\v126\DSP2803x_examples_ccsv4. These are just a few ADC examples, they don't do anything about determining frequency. I didn't find any application notes for either of you applications.

I know measuring low frequencies can be difficult. I did have a friend in College use a zero-crossing technique for low frequencies and had pretty good success versus an FTT or sampling method.

As for your second application, there are some 3rd parties that implement modbus stacks and RS485 drivers on C2000s. www.simmasoft.com is one such company.
