Hi to all,

I am working on Experimenter's kit TMDSDOCK28335, that docking board has on board usb emulator XDS100 USB emulator. This experimenter's kit include Docking board with USB emulator on it, F28335 card, USB cable and CCSv3.0 32K byte limited size comiler.

I have installed that CCSv3.0 and than i had connected onboard emulator along with F28335 card inserted in the slot so when i cojnect it via USB supply it detected as a new hardware found named Dual RS232 and i m not able to provide driver to this card...

AS I have seen in the video demonstratio they are saying as i install CD driver will get automatically installed and on connecting that with the help of USB it will show "XDS100 Ch"1 or something like that with the symbol of USB and it will get installed.

But in my case it is not showing USB symbol on attachment .

I had checked this thing on other computer also but the problem is same.

Any one has faced this problem...???

You need to install driver from FTDI http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm I'm not sure now, but I think it should be VCP driver.

hi Bartosz,

Thanks for the reply but it also not working and I think that is for virtual com port Driver that will convert my USB data to serial so i can access that as a COM port data and i can access that in hyper terminal or any other related serial port monitor

But here in my case its showing DUAL RS232 and ? in place of symbol of USB

Can suggest anything else if u have any idea regarding to this...

I also had Windows whining at unrecognized Dual RS232 device. So I downloadaded zip from the link I've posted and unpacked it. When hardware wizard for the unknown Dual RS232 device showed I chose "point to drivers localization". Windows found it in the unpacked directory and voila!

The "Dual RS232 USB Serial Bridge" message that appears when the USB docking station is plugged in appears to be an issue with some of the FTDI chips on the USB docking stations not getting programmed properly. The FTDI chip is a dual port USB to serial bridge chip that can also act as an XDS100 JTAG emulator when and attached EEPROM is programmed with the JTAG emulator information. Unprogrammed the FTDI chip is a "USB to Serial Bridge". Thus, we believe the issue is with our programming of the FTDI EEPROM in manufacturing.

Here is the fix:

Download the FTDI D2XX Direct Drivers found here

These will install a universal FTDI driver that will resolve the JTAG connection issues.
For right now this is the fix, we're working on getting our EEPROM file posted so the FDTI chip can be programmed correctly.

To help us in debugging this isse please download the MPROG utility found here. Under the "Device" menu run Scan and post what it reports. If it says "Number of unprogrammed devices = 0" then the issue is an unprogrammed FTDI chip.
