Error connecting to the target

hi,

i get the next error when i try to run code composer studio:

Error connecting to the target:

Error 0x80000200/-1041

Fatal Error during: OCS,

Device driver: Problem with the Emulation Controller.

It is recommended to RESET EMULATOR.  This will disconnect each

target from the emulator.  The targets should then be power cycled

or hard reset followed by an emureset and reconnect to each target.

I/O Port = 540

Board Name: F28335_eZdsp

Cpu Name: cpu_0

Abort: Close Code Composer Studio.

Retry: Try to connect to the target again.

Cancel: Remain disconnected from the target

Diagnostic: Run diagnostic utility.

The most estrange thing is that when i try to make a reset  xds560 board, it says that the error is USCIF DRIVER

So....how can i solve this problem?????  I broke my board????

Gaston

  • What reset are you executing?  Is this a menu item in the Program Folder for CCS?

For the eZDSP, if you are using the on-board emulator should utilize a utility from Spectrum Digital.
Also, I don't believe the XDS560 class emulator was used on the eZDSP for the on-board emulation.

  • yes, i have a folder that says 'Hardware reset'------>XDS560 Diagnostics and Reset XDS560 Board.

When i execute the first i got the code you see. The next option bring up an error too.

So i guess my only option is a ahrdware reset, that is why i want to know about a hardware reset.

  • This is true, but it is associated with a particular emulation platform.

The XDS560 is a PCI based emulator that was sold by TI.  Similarly, the XDS510 was a ISA based emulator sold by TI.  These "hardware reset" utilities are associated with those platforms.

They are not associated with the on-board emulation technology on the eZDSP.  The eZDSP on-board emulation was developed by Spectrum Digital.  They may have a utility to perform this similar function.  It is something that, if available, should be available on their support site or by contacting their support channel.

  • Hello Brandon,

    I have here a very similar error but since I am using a XDS100 emulator I can't find a "Hardware  reset" to solve it I am using a XDS100 on a F2808 in the experimenter's kit  (2buck)

    See error below

Thank you in advance for any insight.

    Best regards

  • Hello,

hard reset can be "emulated" by powering target (devel board) off and on.

I use XDS100v1 and sometimes this happen. You can check if Windows see yours XDS100 in device manager -> http://tiexpressdsp.com/index.php/XDS100#Troubleshooting
