Max speed for eCAN

Hi,

I've been working with the eCAN modules in a TMS320C28346 at a speed of 1Mbps with no problems, but lately I was testing higher speeds (2Mbps, 3Mbps, etc.), and the module seems to work up to 3Mbps. I know that the standard indicates that 1Mbps is the limit, however I think that at short distances and using only TMS320C2x microcontrollers I do not see a major problem for using higher speeds. Anyway my questions are: what is the maximum speed that you have tested for this module?, do you think that these speeds could be used in real world applications?

For CAN 1 Mbps is all we officially support per our device test programs.

It is possible to over clock many devices if not all, however, do it at your own risk and don't expect any vendor to approve the practice unless they publish the data in an official datasheet. I personally know applications overclocking devices but they also know that in case of any technical issues they are on their own. So, test the system so that if it is absolutely needed then you can adopt a method knowing full trade-offs.
