Software Reset without XRS activation

Hi,

When creating a software reset to TMS320F28335 by writing an illegal value to WDCR - the XRS pin is activate.

Because of the way our hardware is set - this is very much unwanted.

Is there a way to create a software reset without an activation of XRS pin?

If not, is there a code example to performing "manual reset" meaning, writing all registers with their reset value,

including the stack pointer SP, program counter PC, etc.

OK Guys, solved:

Could not find any method to create a software reset w/o actually activating XRS pin, so the following simple "manual reset" had worked well for me:

EALLOW;
SysCtrlRegs.WDCR= 0x006F; //Disable wdg
EDIS;

// Clean up a little bit first
DINT;
IER = 0;
IFR = 0;

asm (" MOV @SP, #0x400 "); // Init SP
((void (*)(void)) BOOTLOADER_START_INSTR_ADDR)();

One thing to keep in mind - there may be some peripheral registers left in states you don't desire using this method. The boot ROM doesn't init these to their reset state.

what library contains the BOOTLOADER_START_INSTR_ADDR)(); function ?

Since it's been a while since the first post, I'm wondering if TI has come up with another way of doing a SW reset?
