TMDSPLCKIT-v3 “No available serial ports were found”.

I am new to TMDSPLCKIT-v3 .

(I know the kit already having prime package. I changed prime package to G3 package using PLC quality monitor flash burning.

i tried to change G3 to Prime, for this i burned prime code using PLC quality monitor. File i used is "prime_iec432_f2806x.srec")

I burned prime package into kit, after that i am trying to access system info of device using PLC zero configuration/ PLC quality monitor.

It s giving an error “No available serial ports were found” .

(COM number in PC is COM8. COM number is available in zero configuration GUI and PLC quality monitor . I can't able select this COM number. If i select this number after 2 second its giving some kind of time out error (not able to configure PLC kit, please reset) .This is not a accurate message but meaning is same.

But COM port for kit is detected in PC, i have seen in PC->device manager -> ports-> COM8 )

I tried to changing COM number in PC also, its not working.

i am thinking that the prime code may crash while burning,

So to avoid this how to factory reset device, otherwise how to burn prime_iec432_f2806x.srec correctly.(one thing is i cant able to select COM number in PLC quality monitor).

Tell me any way to solve this problem.

I also use the TMDSPLCKIT-v3. But I do NOT know  the tool PLC quality monitor flash burning.
The standard PRIME or G3  image is already compield  and you can flash the firmware by using the
"zero configuration manager/ intermediate mode" as described in the official TI user guide. 

You can also load the PRIME or G3 image (or new compield code) into the Eval-Kit by 
using Code Composer Studio.

what ever your saying is correct. PLC quality monitor have same functionality like "zero configuration-> intermediate mode".

I am new to this TI tools,. i did not used code composer studio.

Please help me to solve this problem, why COM port is not detected in zero configuration or PLC quality monitor. ????????????????

(Remember : COM port is detected in PC).

Hi All,

Can you please try with Null modem cable via SCI-A port on V3 kit? If you can connect it via SCI-A port, then you will be able to connect to V3 kit via SCI-B (using USB) by changing system configuration (from GUI) from SCI-A to SCI-B. I am suspecting that initial port configuration is set to SCI-A.

try with different cable, otherwise use null modem cable (refer above post),
