Which is the actual PFC application kit?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSHVBLPFCKIT, CONTROLSUITE

Hi TI staff,

We had once buyed the application kit TMDSACDCKIT. Now I looked at the application kits available at www.ti.com. The TMDSACDCKIT isn't any more listed there.

Is this kit still orderable?

Or was this kit replaced by an other one (e.g. TMDSHVPFCKIT)?

We want implement the PFC boost stage and take your actual kit as a reference.

Thanks

Matt

  • Matt,

The specifications for your power stage will determine which application kit will be best to start from.

The TMDSACDCKIT was recently taken out of stock because we have found that most of our power supply customers preferred to have development boards with specifications closer to their own applications (Universal AC input, 400Vdc output from the PFC, 12V or 48V from the downstream DC/DC converter).  This is now our focus.  The TMDSACDCKIT is still a viable tool for evaluating the C2000 series of MCUs though.

For PFC application kits we have the TMDSHVPFCKIT (http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdshvpfckit) and the bridge-less TMDSHVBLPFCKIT (http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdshvblpfckit).  Full documentation, specifications, and software are available in controlSUITE for both of these application kits.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Hi Brett,

    Thank you for the answer.

I can confirm that the newer PFC Kits will be closer to our application.

    Kind regards,

    Matt
