2407 vs 2818/283xx - flash programming and field upgrade.

Hello here is a question from my customer:

I have some experience with the F2407 and i recall it having a few specif limitations. I want to know if these are still present in the F2818 and the F283xx

1)  ‘field upgrade’ does not work below -15

2)  ‘flash programming’ provided by TI was difficult to use since it required a specific crystal value.

  • Anjli,

    1) Erase is specified from 0 to 85C in some 28x parts, and -40 to 125C in others. Check the Flash Endurance spec in the Flash Timings section of the datasheet.
    2) Flash programming does not require a specific clock speed on the 28x devices. You do have to set a variable to tell the API what speed you are running at though.
