Can the SPI registers be read or written in the cLA?

    Arye,

    You do not say what device you are using, but I assume it is either F2803x or F2806x.  The answer is no, the CLA cannot access the SPI registers in F2803x and F2806x devices.  The access the CLA has is documented in multiple places, but an easy place to see this is in the device datasheet, "Functional Block Diagram" (Figure 1-1 in F2806x DS SPRS689C, or Figure 3-1 in F2803x DS SPRS584F).  The diagrams show the "CLA bus" in color.  You will notice it is not connected to the SPI modules.
