solar explorer kit - TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

i have just ordered for TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT - which is low voltage kit.-.F28035 control card- all i want to know is just 4 things..

1. does this kit has grid-tie capabilities?

2. does it have phase lock loop control (PLL) ?

3. can this kit be used for anti-islanding test?

4. does this kit have ADC drive for signal sensing?

i know these above asked features are available in high voltage kit TMDSHV1PHINVKIT but i want to whether its available n low voltage kit also (TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT)

  • Yogesh,

Please download controlsuite and make sure to select the solar explorer kit, then browse through the documents inside development_kits/solarexplorer

    1. The kit is a LV kit however it can still be used to connect to the grid if the grid is emulated though a step down transformer and for safety using an isolation transformer. All the tests condicted with the kit are documented in the lab document for the kit which is found at

                       development_kits\SolarExplorer\~Docs

                       development_kits\SolarExplorer\SolarExplorer_PVInverter_F2803x\~Docs

    2. Yes the PLL is used in the software, refer to the solar lib documentation for details on the module,  \libs\app_libs\solar

    3. You can use it for anti islanding check but only with an emulated grid at lower volatges with the step down transformer

    4. The kit does have all the necessary adc sensing required for the control loops,

  • Thanks mr.manish.. im using this LV solar explorer kit for my final year project so ill be getting back to you with lots of questions and doubts...

  • Hello,

I've read the reply above and it has been very useful for understanding if the kit fits with my needs.

But I'd like to have more info about the possibility of putting IN SERIES the output terminals of the dc/dc converters available in the kit. For example, I wish to buy 2 kits, to connect at their inputs two different PV panels and connect the output terminals of the two dc/dc converters available (one in the first kit and one in the second kit) in series, so that they share the current. The series connected terminals must be connected at a battery or to a constant voltage source. Thus, I wish to test a configuration used in Distributed MPPT applications.

The problem might be in the dc/dc converters controllers grounding, because the negative terminal of ONE dc/dc converter can be grounded, but not of both.

Please let me know if you need further details in order to give me a complete answer.

    Thanks for your reply.

    best regards

I'm not found the code of anti islanding in development_kits\SolarExplorer\SolarExplorer_PVInverter_F2803x.
