Sinusoidal control of BLDC motors using Hall effect sensors?

I want to know if information about sinusoidal control of BLDC motors is available from controlSUITE.

is there a guide about this subject? i mean, information like a Incremental System Build exists?

    Hello,

    For TI, a sinusoidally-driven BLDC motor is considered a PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor).  For TI, our BLDC software is specifically used to trapezoidally control a motor.

    You should find several examples of PMSM within controlSUITE.

    We very rarely do sine/space vector three phase modulation in combination with a hall sensored BLDC.

    If the application really requires hall sensors and is truly trapezoidal then you would typically want to keep the BLDC/trapezoidal drive to maximize the torque and dc bus utilization.

    If you ideally don't want to have to use the hall senors, and you want a quieter drive by moving to a sine wave, you should probably just go all the way to FOC (especially when you have a device with resources like C2000/Piccolo).  It will also give you benefits of better dynamic control and lower current demand on switching and transients (including start-up).

    Hi!

    Thank you Chris Clearman and Brett Larimore for answer.

    I'm recently acquired the HVMotorCtrl PFC Kit v2.0, and now I'm going to start to work with the Incremental System Build: "Trapezoidal Control of BLDC Motors Using Hall Effect Sensors sensors".

    I wanted to use the GUI "HVMTRPFCKIT-BLDC-GUI" for a quick start, and I re-flashed the controlCARD following the steps indicated in the .txt file, but I have a problem to use the GUI, because it shows the next imagen, and I can't connect my computer with the GUI, which would be the problem?
