How to synchronize the PWM outputs between concerto cards?

Hi everyone, I need to  synchronize several PWM modules located in different concerto cards. I know that PWM modules provide un sync output signal which can be used as Sync input signal for the others PWM modules. However, I would like to avoid this approach in order to reduce the wired connections between cards. I wonder if it would be possible to use the IEEE 1588 protocol to achieve this goal. It would be great if the cards were able to use the PTP master clock as PWM synchronization input. I am aware that the timing precision could be affected but I think it worths a try. My main concern is how to communicate the two processors to exchange the syncronization signal in a efficient way since the communication proccessor (ARM) must send to the real time proccesor (C2000) the sync info as the latter is the only one that can handle the PWM module.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks, Juan.
