Burning programs in production

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi, what is the intended way to burn programs in production/service? I see that Uniflash+JTAG is a solution, but I think serial would be a more natural solution in some cases (serial ports are much more widespread than JTAG emulators). Unfortunately, Uniflash does not support serial burning for other devices than the Concerto family.

We are working on updates to Uniflash for serial programming of Piccolo devices next - this is still in the planning stage so I can't give you a date.

In the meantime, CodeSkin has a programmer that can program across serial for our devices.  (http://www.codeskin.com/programmer).  It base functionality is free and many of our customers have used it.

In the next few months Elptrotronic will announce a gang programming solution for small production runs (http://www.elprotronic.com/).  They also have a serial programmer.

For large large production there are programmers such as BP Microsystem and DATA I/O.  Many of our distributors offer programming services at a fee.
