TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT - Emulator reset error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hello,

i been trying to work with my new TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT but i'm facing some difficulties, i opened a project from the destination  "controlSUITE\development_kits\SolarExplorer_v1.0\SolarExplorer_PVEmulator_F2802x "  (Flash F28027 project), when i debug the project  it initially showed couldn't flash due to HW breakpoints (hardware breakpoints) then i went to some options and selected "skip all breakpoints" then run the program, six LED's in the kit (M6- LD1,LD2, M5- LD1,LD2, Control card- LD1,LD2)   were started blinking immediately with some relay noise, then i tried to halt the program but it failed to halt so i disconnected the target. after that i tried to flash another program to emulator F28027 mean while these LED kept blinking, i was not able to connect the target when i debugged  the new progrm i'm facing a error like this:

"C28xx: Error: (Error -1135 @ 0x3FF599) The emulator reported an error. Confirm emulator configuration and connections, reset the emulator, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 5.0.681.0)" 1374.error.tif"

1. how am i suppose to reset the emulator when i am not able to connect the target to CCS ?

2. how to remove the emulator from reset mode ? because earlier i faced this warning "couldn't flash the program, the emulator is in reset mode take it out from reset mode and try flashing'

3. And i want to know whether this six LED's keep blinking in the kit whenever i turn on the supply are due the program(Flash-F28027) which i flashed to the emulator or is it some kind of fault alert from the kit indicating that my kit is in danger ?

urgent please reply

thank you

  • Yogesh,

    1. Are you trying to change the PV emulator code and connect to the F28027 device?

    2.  Were you able to connect successully to the F28035 (control card device) through the [M7] Macro ? Have you been able to connect to any C2000 device thorugh your PC

    3. LED's you mentioned just indicate status and power, no fault. Control Card LD1 and lD2 just indicate that code is running on the control card. M6 LD1,LD2 are power indication(they should not blink), M5-LD1 is power indicator to the PV emulator macro and M5-LD2 is flashing to indicate the code is running on F28027.

    4. Did you connect the mini USB at M5 JP1?

    5. When connecting to the emulator i will recommend to keep the SW1 off so that there is no power flowing into the kit while you are trying to load code.

  • desperately  waiting for your reply thank you

    1. no i didn't try to change PV emulator code. i flashed the same code which already existed in the control suite  (controlSUITE\development_kits\SolarExplorer_v1.0\SolarExplorer_PVEmulator_F2802x)    to F28027 device.

    2. yes at first i was able to connect to F28035 control card, that time i got emulator reset error saying ("couldn't flash the program, the emulator is in reset mode take it out from reset mode and try flashing')  then only i tried to flash coding to F28027 when i was trying do this i couldn't flash due to HW breakpoints (hardware breakpoints) then i went to some options and selected "skip all breakpoints" then those LED's started blinking. yes Mr.Manish  i have connected Experimental kit F28335 and eZdsp F28335 kits with my PC and i have worked with them several times, im using CCS.v5  now.

    3. then how to stop those code in F28027 control code? when im not able to connect the target ?

    4. yes i connected the mini USB at M5 JP1 while running the code.

    Awaiting your reply

  • Yogesh,

So do you want to program F28027 or F28035?

If you have both connected i.e. the mini USB at M5 and USB B-A at M7 CCS can get confused as both the emulators are xdsv100.

Can you try removing the mini USB at M5 and first just test F28035 connection(control card) through M7?

    Regards

    Manish Bhardwaj

  • Manish

i wanted to program both F28035 and F28027

i tried, i removed mini USB connection at M5 and turned off SW1 switch and connected M7 USB and tried to load toggle lead program to F28035, but still target still didnt get connected due to software breakpoints.

i turned off very thing and restarted the procedure, this time when i turned on SW2 power supply all the LED's started blinking even though i kept my SW1 in off position. same problem which i mentioned earlier (see my previous post same problem).

how to connect the target and reset the F28027 emulator?

    regards

  • Have you tried creating a new workspace and connecting?

  • ya i have tried that too but still not able to connect

Is there any option to make hardware reset to the emulator ? Is there any pins or jumpers to reset the emulator manually ?
