USB F28069 Control Stick Features

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi,

I wished to test out C2000, and thought to buy the USB Controlstick,

I wanted to know more about it, as I needed to use Quadrature Encoder Pins, and Motor Control features which is why I decided on c2000 (I heard motor control libraries are supposed to be good). So, I installed controlSUITE, to find out more (as was written on the website). I couldn't find much info other than examples and some features.

It never mentioned whether UART, i2c, and CAN communication can be done using those 32 pins on the stick. nor does it mention about the Quadrature pins ... do I assume it doesn't have the features ? (even though the ICs data sheet says it has?)

Anyone have any idea whether it has these features ?

  • Abdeali,

The silicon on the controlSTICK has these features, but not all of the pins may be pinned out to those headers.  To figure out which peripherals are on which pins you'll need to look at the schematic, which should be here:

    C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\F28069 controlSTICK\~F28069controlSTICK_HWdevPkg\R1

and the GPIO mux information in the technical reference manual (available on our website).

    Regards,
