I already own the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT and would like to know if the TMDSCNCD28069MISO is compatible with this development kit? I would like to evaluate the "InstaSpin" feature.

    What MCU controlCARD is at your TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT now (Piccolo F28035 or Delfino F28335)?

    Bosko,

    All of the hvkit projects in MotorWare

    C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_07\sw\solutions\instaspin_foc\boards\hvkit_rev1p1

    have the drivers and all ADC scaling based off of the R1.1 of the HVKIT PCB (Yellow PCB).

    If you have this revision of the HW, the GUI projects and all MotorWare projects will work immediately with a TMDSCNCD28069MISO controlCARD.

    If you have an older revision of the kit (green PCB, R5 was most common version) you would have to make changes to the drv.c/.h and user.h files for any given solution/proejct, the same as you would to customize the SW to your custom HW.

    Chris,

    I have confirmed the green PCB is installed.  What are the main differences with the revised board and do you offer an exchange program to update to the latest revision hardware?

    The green R5 has a very different current sense approach:

    - 2 shunt vs. 3
    - no kelvin ground connection
    - different polarity and full scale range

    That's the main differences.  It is POSSIBLE to update the MotorWare projects (mainly the drv.c/.h and user.h) to work with this board, you would need to follow the directions in the User's Guide.  But note that we obviously made revisions to this HW to make improvements. 

    We do not offer an exchange program, but perhaps you can sell the R5 version locally or someplace like eBay?  Personally, I would spend the money on getting the latest TMDSHVMTRINSPIN kit.
