Hi Everyone,

I need to know what is the function of boot rom.What is the advantage of having a boot rom for my DSC.In application level how it is useful

There is a boot ROM reference guide for each device family. As an example, If you were using a 28069, then chapter 2 of this guide tells all of the features of the ROM on that device. (www.ti.com/lit/SPRUH18)

Boot ROM typically has -

Code needed to start up the device
Code to download data into the device (we call this a boot loader) - to learn more about boot loaders watch this video: http://trainingcenter.ti.com/ti/training/cplayer?1&umfid=58ecb740-7462-4378-a716-af7951f838af
It may (or may not) have math tables or other lookup tables - the 28069, for example has some floating-point lookup tables.
It may also (or may not) have some application code - for example math routines or drivers - that the main application can use.
