F2806x X1 and X2 pins?

On the TMS320F2806x datasheet, www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320f28069.pdf Page 22 table 2-5 say's: If X1 pin is not used, it must be tied to GND. and it appears it is ok to float X2

However on the schematic from control SUITE for the F2806x Isolated Control CARD Eval board "F2806XISO-CONTROLCARDR0.3-SCH" (F2806x_CONTROLLERCARD_V0.3.DSN) It appears X1 is floating and X2 is tied to GND. My suspicion is the schematic has an error as X1 is relabeled to X2 and visa versa. Please confirm.

Hi Tarek,

Once I too faced the similar kind of issue. Please follow this:

1. If X1 pin is not used, it must be tied to GND.

2. If X2 is not used, it must be left unconnected ie float.

Follow the datasheet. In control card it might be contradictory but its better if you follow the datasheet.

Gautam is correct. The F2806x ISO controlCARD R0.3 schematic is in error and contradicts the datasheet. Usage of X1 and X2 is as you (and the datasheet) have described.

I will submit a bug to have this issue added to the errata section of the F2806xISO-CONTROLCARD infosheet. Thank you for reporting this.
