Can I use C2000 Piccolo LaunchPad for my PLC project ?

Hi everyone, My school project is control house devices using Power lines communication . And I just have ordered a C2000 Piccolo LaunchPad , so could anyone tell me if I could use this board for my project ?. I'm planning use it with an AFE031 IC .
and If I couldn't use this board, so what is better choice for my project? I really need your advice because I know notthing about this project

Hi,

Surely you can use the launchpad; you can interface the launchpad with AFE031C using SPI communication protocol. BTW what is the main motto of the project?

thank you very much! the main motto of project is switch on/off your device by using PLC , so could you please give me some idea to approach this project ?

Hi,

The AFE031 is a low-cost, integrated, powerline communications (PLC) analog front-end (AFE) device that is capable of capacitive- or transformer-coupled connections to the powerline while under the control of a DSP or microcontroller. It is ideal for driving low-impedance lines that require up to 1.5 A into reactive loads. The integrated receiver is able to detect signals down to 20 µV_RMS and is capable of a wide range of gain options to adapt to varying inputsignal conditions. This monolithic integrated circuit provides high reliability in demanding powerline communications applications.

The AFE031 transmit power amplifier operates from a single supply in the range of 7 V to 24 V. At maximum output current, a wide output swing provides a 12-V_PP (I_OUT = 1.5 A) capability with a nominal 15-V supply. The analog and digital signal processing circuitry operates from a single 3.3-V power supply.

After finalizing the DSP that is suitable for your application, you can download controlSuite from TI website so that you can go through the SPI based sample codes that would kick start your project.

Hi everybody,
I know that my question would be silly. But can anyone tell me , How can we apply AFE031 for PLC? I tried reading alots but with my bad English skill, I still can't understand any thing.

It seems I can to repeat the content of my recent post again only:

Is there set of compatible MCUs for interfacing with AFE031. And if the firmware is programmed onto the chip can it take additional application code?
