(Error -151 @ 0x0)

I have only recently got involved with the C2000 Piccolo devices thus I am a bit of a novice.

I was playing with a 28035 chip in the standard 100 pin TI development kit. Everything was going o.k and then suddenly the ccsv5 complained that it could not communicate with the emulator.

The following Blurb was shown on the ccsv5 console.

C28xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -151 @ 0x0) One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect returned bad status or an error. The cause may one or more of: invalid emulator serial number, blank emulator EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable. Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif' folder to verify the emulator can be located. (Emulation package 5.1.73.0)

I have run the xds100serial.exe, which resulted in:

VID/PID Type SERIAL# Description

0403/6010 blank EEPROM unknown no description available

What is the verdict?

In follow up to the above question , I have tried to download new FTDI drivers and been informed

That the currently installed versions are up to date.

I have also downloaded the FTDI_FT_PROGRAMMER and scanned

the EEPROM associated with the board’s emulator. I can communicate with this EEPROM

and the settings appear to be “correct” as documented in step7 of the article below.

Don’t know what else to do!!

I have the same problem and I can not fix it...If anybody can advise us it would be great!!

In my case xds100serial.exe shows:

VID/PID Type Serial # Description

0403/a6d0 XDS100v1/v2 SD28M35 Tesxas Instruments ver 2.0

I have tried it introducing this serial number in the advanced configuration target file and the problem remains...

This issue is due to no connection available between XDS and PC's USB port. In short, the FTDI chip has been damaged or the usb connector has been damaged(quite unusual). Also check with the respective windows device driver @ Device manager.

Hi again,

In my case, xds100serial.exe do can locate the emulator unlike Dave!! I have solved the problem.. I write down how for if it helps to someone....

Thanks very much Gautum! I checked @Device Manager of my PC and Ports(COM and LPT>USB Serial Port) is gone.

So, I got recover it (image in spanish):

Then, I tried debugged again, and the problem remained, but checking the emulator i saw that by default it was XDS100v3 and I exchange it by version2 and just works!!

you should set the ccxml file as Active Target configuration, for example:
