motorware labs not working

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE, DRV8312

Hello

i m using the last version of motorware , compiler ..

on a Drv8312 kit  with the bly172s motor

in the FOC example  lab03b , i can turn slowly  , identify the motor..  but if i try to increase the speed, the current increase and the speed cannot go above 1800 rpm   (with 24 volt)

all the others examples labxxx have also the same probleme

with the GUI instaspin application there is not this probleme and i can go to 3200 rpm without field weakenning.

ALL the labs with fpu32  (labs03c for exemple ) doesn not work (the motor doesn't turn )

can you help me  ?

thanks

  • Hmmm.

What version of CCS and the compiler are you using? Go to Help --> about for the CCS version, and right click on a project --> Properties --> General tab for details on the compiler.

We just noticed that CCSv5.5 ships with compiler 6.2.0 (and there is a 6.2.1 patch available) so we started doing some testing and noticing some strange behavior. We are working with the CCS/compiler team to understand this.

All MotorWare projects have been tested with CCSv5.3/5.4 and compiler 6.1.0.  If you are on the most recent CCS and can revert CCS and the compiler I would for now.

  • Hello Chris

    thanks for your answer

the compiler version is 6.2.0, i have an other PC with version 6.1.5

    CCS is 5.5.0.00077

For the fpu32 version of the Labs , when you start the motor , the user.h Motor parameters are not good copy in

gMotorVars  ( Lsd_H, lsq_H, VpHz). the motor is lock but cannot turn

i am developping the inverter for an exosqueton.

if you need the project , i can send you

    thanks

  • Please try with compiler 6.1.5, I"m sure this is the problem.

We're looking into why this is happening. It's very worrisome because the project still builds and you expect it to work. Your motor isn't starting, but other motors seem to start ok but once we look closer we realize the current waveforms are NOT good.

  • Chris

tomorow i download css 5.4 , and i try the projects.

    it s late here

    thanks

  • hi chris

i run now with CCS 5.4  and compiler 6.13  (compiler with the package CCS5.4)

now i have no more the problem of the speed limitation .

i will try after the labs with fpu32

     thanks

  • that's good to know. we are looking into the issues of the 6.2.x compiler. Very concerning but we will get a fix!
