I am currently trying to run the example PMSM:FOC Enhanced Sensorless code and am up to Build level 3 which all steps have been completed successfully up to here.

the manual asks for the incremental encoder to be connected to H1 but I cannot find for the life of me which wires I have to connect from the encoder to the development board H1

I have found the datasheet (i think) for the motor and encoder http://www.anaheimautomation.com/manuals/servo/L010734%20-%20Estun%20EMJ%2060mm.pdf

If you could help me find or let me know about a way to connect the encoder I would be very appreciative.

I am currently working on my thesis for university and I am running out of time to finish so need to get this happening as soon as possible.

XD... I just realised that it is written on the pcb itself.. I will have a go at continuing now but no doubt I will need you guys help soon!!

I have now come to the stage of connecting the encoder to the motor, I want to verify if possible which wires from the

Would someone please be able to help me with some direction for what needs to be plugged into what.Your quick reply would be greatly appreciated as I am running out of time fast with this project!

That is the EMJ-04APA22 I am using the EMJ-04APB22 but i would assume that they have the same encoder configuration

Upon looking, they both use the same encoder 2500 CPR so the wiring would be the same

I asked you the above question just because: the connections and schematics of tmdshvmtrpfckit and hvpmsmmtr would be available in controlSuite itself. Currently I'm on tour and don't have access to controlSuite and hence I can't verify the same. But please check all the docs available in cs.

Ok thanks! I will check this out tomrrow when I get to university. I have looked through cs quite extensily and I haven't seen it on there. I believe that that is the encoder. All I have been able to find is the instruction to plug the encoder into H1 which is the header, nothing to do about the wire configuration

If anyone can help me on this that would be great!

Hello,

I am trying to give a generic reply.

GND tie A-, B- and C- wires and probe A+, B+ and C+ signals with a scope to identify the QEP and index signals and then connect to the kit accordingly. When you connect A and B signals to kit, it may be possible that they are swapped in which case the sense of speed feedback will be opposite to that of how the motor had spun during test. If this is the case, swap A and B connections and it should be fine.

I tested the encoder on the oscilloscope and it was as you said, A B and C.

I then pulled it into the board and it worked correctly!
