MotorWare has been updated to version 1_01_00_10.

(sign up for Alert Me on the software pages if you haven't already)

Key updates include

  • Support for new LAUNCHXL-F28027F and BOOSTXL-DRV8301 boards
  • Project setting updates
    • Built using CCSv5.5
    • Latest compiler 6.2.3
    • Build configurations for Debug, Release (RAM), and Flash with appropriate optimization settings
    • Flash projects set to run standalone
    • Support for new Universal GUI
  • User.h update for SVGEN Modulation
  • #define USER_MAX_VS_MAG_PU (1.0) replaces USER_MAX_DUTY_CYCLE        (4/3)

Also, it looks like the LaunchPad/BoosterPack "Kit Readme First" document didn't get linked into the build correctly.
This document is included in the "Universal GUI" download and is also attached here. You can place it at:

  • Hello Chris,

    Thanks for the announcement.

Please confirm, can Motorware 1_01_00_10 be used in CCSv5.4 and compiler 6.1?

So far, I want to keep CCS 5.4 in my PC. Or should I update it to CCSv5.5 and compiler 6.2?

    What is your suggestion?

Also LAUNCHXL-F28027F is still out of stock. When can we order it? Is it possible to ship outside US (or should wait the available distributor)?

    Thanks a lot.

    Best regards,

    Maria

  • The downloaded version is still 1_01_00_09setup

  • Hello,

I have downloaded the new motorware and it is MotorWare1.01.00.10setup.exe and installed in C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_10.

    Best regards,

    Maria

  • Minjian,

I'm certainly seeing version 10 on the download. I'm pretty sure that all world wide regions pull from the same repository so you should only see version 10, but I'm checking to see if maybe some places need to see the file replicate.

    Maria,

Yes, MotorWare projects work with v6.1.x compilers.  Apparently the new 6.2.3  has some good enhancements, so that would be our recommendation, but we used 6.1.x for the past couple years.  Do NOT use 6.2.1 or 6.2.2 compilers - there is a bug.

Also, for the new Universal GUI, if you want to use that inside CCS GUI Composer you MUST use CCSv5.5.  Otherwise using v5.4 is fine.

  • Maria,

Sorry, I missed your first question.

The LAUNCXL-F28027F and any "bundle" will ship next week. The packages are in the air in route to stock up in our Dallas facility.  The BOOSTXL-DRV8301 are in Dallas and stocking into the system today, so shipments should begin tomorrow if for some reason you just want the BoosterPack.

  • Hello Chris,

Thank you for answering my questions.

I will install CCSv5.5 later. I will keep working on CCSv5.4 for now.

About LAUNCHXL-F28027F, we will only want to order the launchpad.

We will order it today or next week (we will order from Mouser in this case).

    Thanks and keep supporting us!

    Best regards,

    Maria

  • Hello Chris,

Until now, I am still using CCSv5.4 and compiler 6.1.

When I wanted to import instaSpin-FOC f2802xF project from motorware v10 to CCSv5.4,

I found that it could not be imported if I didn't have compiler 6.2.

But even when I already installed ti_cgt_c2000_6.2.3_setup_win32.exe, the problem was the same.

I corrected it. After I added the compiler to CCSv5.4, the project could be imported.

But in this case, we have to note: we need to install new compiler 6.2 first!

    Best regards,

    Maria

  • Glad you solved. I wish we didn't update CCS and compiler so frequently, it really adds unnecessary complication.

Please let me know if you see any strange behavior with using the new compiler. Since we had issues with 6.2.1/6.2.2 that were system level and didn't break compile I'm still a bit nervous.  I'm using it daily and control seems stable, but I do have a single report from an FAE that they are seeing an issue.

  • Hi everybody,

First I want to thanks TI team's for the Motorware tool.

I just try the DRV8301 kit with my motor throught the GUI and it work's fine for the moment.

    I also try some labs.

Now I want to create my own project from a lab (it will be easier for me to start from an example), this project must be standalone.

Unfortunately, I can't find any standalone projects in the motorware, where can I find the projects you are talking about?

    Regards

    Manu.

  • The projects are in MotorWare

    C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_10\sw\solutions\instaspin_foc\boards\drv8301kit_revD\f28x\f2806xF\projects\ccs5

    follow the lab document

    C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_10\docs\labs

In CCS, with an imported project, right click and go to Active Build Configuration

you can select RAM or Flash, debug or release.

  • Thank you very much for your help. My problem was the configuration of SW3 on the Piccolo F28069M ControlCARD.

    Regards.
