TMX320F28069 Control Stick Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD28069ISO

Hello All,

On the TMX320F28069 control stick - Pin 61 isn't pinned out - does HRCAP2 work on that pin?  I think USB does not work on that silicon - and the DM signal is an option on that pin.

It is the only High-Resolution capture register on that part - if it works.

Thanks,
johnw

  • John,

If the F2806x device has a U in its name (ie F28069U) then the device is USB capable.  I believe that the controlSTICKs ship with F28069 (non-U) MCUs on them, but you can confirm with what is written on the MCU.

On the F28069 controlSTICK, only a limited number of pins could be output through the connector and pin 61 of the MCU was chosen to not go through.  However on the MCU itself, pin 61 should be able to output HRCAP2 or USB-DM (and everything should generally follow the datasheet)

A controlCARD may be a better vehicle for experimentation with HRCAP/USB.

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Brett,

Thanks - interestingly enough - the TMDSCNCD28069ISO isn't available to order on the TI eStore.

If you go under the tools for the C28x - it is listed as active.

I have called this in to the help desk - they are working on it now.

If I have time I will put a jumper on pin 61 of the TMX based control stick that I have and see if I can get anything
on the HRCAP2 line.  I read in errata that USB was inoperative on this version of the chip and hope that pin 61 isn't disabled.  Since it wasn't routed makes you think nothing works on that pin.

    Thanks Again,
    John
