Silicone thermal paste for heatpad(powerpad)?

I am going to use F28335 on my board. The new DSPs have a thermal pad (PowerPAD) underneath and I have a thermal pad for it on the board.

Can I use the thermal paste (which usually used between computer CPU and their heatsinks) to paste the DSP's thermal pad to my PCB board's thermal pad?

I know it would be good to solder the pad on the board, however, it might be difficult to solder , since i need to align the DSP pins, and probably solder the pins first. then I can only heat from the back and try to melt the solder and hope they flow throw the vias. but since the thermal pad is connected to the ground plane and has a very good heat dissipation, heating it up would not be easy at all.

Just wanna know, if  the silicone paste cause any problem for the circuit?
