DSP TMS320F2812 Clock de rating with temperature

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2812, LM3S2965, SM320F28335-HT, SM320F2812-HT

Hi Experts,

I would like to know about the de rating of the system clock in DSP TMS320F2812 with temperture. Data sheet don't have the explanation over this topic.

Could anyone please provide some reference document which has the information about this topic or explain to me the behaviour of DSP clock (could be anyone , oscillator or crystal) over the operating temperature range.

I will be qualifying this DSP for temperature 150 deg C operation, but would like to know the de rating behaviour of the clock if there is any.

Not limited to this DSP only, I would like to know the de rating behaviour of the clock for the following 2 parts as well (kindly help, if I am posting in the correct forum)

1) LM3S2965 - 32 - bit microcontroller , 50 MHz clock

2) SM320F28335-HT - 32 - bit digital signal controller , 100 MHz clock

Regards

Asad

  • Asad,

Correct operation is not guaranteed or implied for temperatures beyond those specified in the datasheet (maximum of 125C for F2812).  If you need to operate this device at a high temperature range, use the SM320F2812-HT.

In the features section for SM320F28335-HT:

    • Up to 150 MHz for TC = –55°C to 125°C
and Up to 100 MHZ for TC = 210°C

So at 150C, you will need to use 100MHz clock (and you can use that same clock up to 210 C)
