PWM interfacing circuit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2812, DRV8313, CONTROLSUITE

Hi,

I want to use DRV8313 as Brushless DC motor driver (amplifier). I'm using the MCU TMS320F2812.  Is there any additional circuit or ICs of TI to provide a interface bewteen MCU and DRV8313? or is there a simple way to connect the MCU to DRV8313?

Regards,

Joel.

  • Joel,

The DRV8312-C2-KIT and its schematics located in controlSUITE might be a good reference (and may be a good kit to experiment with if you're not tied to the F2812).

Note that the older 'F2812 MCU doesn't have CAP (eCAP) modules so you'll have to use regular GPIOs to interface with the hall sensors.  This shouldn't be too big of an issue.

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Hello Brett,

    thank you for your reply,

i want to do the same scheme as the one that i have uploaded before. And for that i want to buy the F2812 MCU and use the DRV8313 as amplifier. The DRV8313 contains already the gate driver stage and the inverter stage. I took in an article the picture that i uploaded before. And now i'm interesting of the interfacing circuit between the F2812 MCU and the DRV8313.

TI suggests the using of the DRV8313 as amplifier on the homepage. But TI does not give any informations how to use or connect it to a MCU. That is why i'm looking for a part for interfacing.  May be TI has such a part.

  • Michel,

The DRV8313 will interface directly with the F2812.  Just connect EN1-3, nSLEEP and nRESET to GPIO pins, and IN1-3 to PWM pins, and you are good to go.
