TMS320F2808 sometimes does not wake from HALT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2808

I am having trouble getting my TMS320F2808 to wake from HALT reliably.  I have followed all of the guidelines in the Reference Guides (or so I think I'm doing it right) but 95% of the time it wakes fine, but sometimes it never wakes up.

A second, lower-power processor is in control of waking up the 2808 through a GPIO line.  This other processor holds the GPIO low for 10msec to allow the PLL to start up.  But still, sometimes it just doesn't start up.

Does anyone have any advice on waking up a 2808 from HALT?

Thanks

  • Please check the datasheet to make sure 10msec is long enough time for osc to stabilize. If time interval is okay then check the quality of your GPIO signal - a noisy GPIO signal will create issues during wake-up.
