QEP problem

Hi, I am having problem with the DSP i am using for my project. I am using F28335. And the encoder i am using it is open collector type. My output from the encoder is fine. It is giving pulses to the input of the DSP. I have checked the input pins for QEP1A, QEP1B. The pulses are there. But, after the running the program it is not giving the electrical theta and the RPM value. Note that, this problem is happening with the mini module of TI DSP F28335. Then i checked the program with another Experimenter’s Kit USB Docking Station i have. The program is working fine in that kit and getting all the desired value.

Please suggest me what i can do for the mini module i using right now.

  • Hello,

I am not familiar with the mini module that you are describing so I'm not sure how much I can help you directly.

However, if you are seeing good results from the Experimenter's Kit, I would suspect the hardware of the mini module is doing something to your signal or something is not jumpered correctly, has some pull-down resistors, etc.

I would recommend trying to find the mini module's schematics and tracking the signal path in question.

    Thank you,
    Brett
