TMS320F2812 with DSP BIOS suitable for medical device ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2812

Hello,

We have been using the TMS320F2812 for years (5) and are very happy with its features.

We are planning to develop a medical device with this chip but are wondering about a few things.

Q1- I cannot found any information on TI website about the DSPBIOS being a validated RTOS for a medical device, is this RTOS suitable for a medical device?

Q2- Does anyone know if  there is an FDA Validated RTOS for this device?

Q3- Is the DSP BIOS a POSIX  operating OS ?

Thanks,

Andre

  • BIOS source code can be made available so that you can validate the OS code using the same method that you validate your applicaiton code.  Other customers have done this for various certifications:  different levels of FDA, FAA, and others.

Contact your local sales person and they will help you with processing the request for BIOS source code.
