Hi,

I'm working with TMS320F28335,

I'm trying to program TMS320F28335 with the software C2Prog by codeskin via RS232.

I created the hex file, I set the GPIO pin (84, 85, 86, 87) for SCI boot, I connected the serial, but the programming does not happen and I get the following message:

*** PLEASE RESET TARGET IN SCI BOOT-LOADER MODE ***
Connecting with target (autobaud)... failed (no response)!

The C2Prog working properly by using the JTAG.

Is there any additional configuration that is missing?

Hi Marco,

Can you confirm that you are connecting the SCI to the F28335 via GPIO28 and GPIO29?

I might also take a look at the SCI-TX and SCI-RX lines via an oscilloscope to confirm that your signal is getting to the F28335 in the first place.

Yes, I'm connected to the serial port SCI-A via GPIO28 and GPIO29, I'm using the F28335 controlCARDs (TMDSCNCD28335) with the Experimenter's Kit USB Docking Station, where there are pins for serial communication.

And how about matching voltage levels between your pins for serial communication and COM port of your PC? In general if you use GPIO28 and GPIO29 of DSP directly without any level converter, you get 0...3.3v for input/output. The standard RS232 has +12...-12v. I suspect you need a level converter (MAX232 for example).

I solved for the first step, on the Experimenter's Kit USB Docking Station the jumper for set the GPIO pins (used to determine the desired boot mode) do not work, to set to zero the pin GPIO84 I had to connect it directly to GND.

But now I have another problem, the programming with C2Prog starts but then crashes with the following message:

*** PLEASE RESET TARGET IN SCI BOOT-LOADER MODE ***
Connecting with target (autobaud)... OK.
Bootloading... OK.
Please wait...
Connecting with target... failed (no response)!

Hi Marco,

You may want to contact codeskin - they will have a better idea of what could cause that particular error at that point in time. It looks like the boot load is working but I'm not sure if the erase/programming has happened.
