F28335 - different footprint

Hello everybody,

I am recently changing from the 176HLQFP176 to the 176BGA package. Since they have the same number of pins, I was expecting to be able to use the same schematic drawing, but the number of VDD and VDDIO are not the same in the packages (one more VDD and one less VDDIO pin in the LHQFP). Is this suppost to be that way or could it be a mistake in the datasheet?

Hi Kristin,

The datasheet is right! Still I would like you to compare the F28335 controlCard schematic/pcb file with yours; you can conclude after checking out personally. The schematic/pcb file of F28335 (BGA) control card is in controlSuite.

Hi Gautam,

thank you for your reply. I will check the design of the control card. I found the differences in the supply pins when creating the footprint. I am still working on my BGA design, so I will just attach my schematic right now - that might not be enough information to check for any differences.

Yes, I did. It maches the datasheet. So I will change the footfrint and the schematic drawing for the controller. Thanks for your help.
