Problem with loading program into flash of dsc tms320f28027 with xds100v1 usb

 Sometimes program load into & run from flash very smoothly but after    10 to 12 attempts of load & run cycle compiler throws an error with saying    "C28xx: Flash Programmer: Error encountered when writing to flash             memory". Then once it start to throws an error it does continuously & at some point it again starts to successfully load & run program from flash.
         I have tried different controller card(tms320f28027) & different JTAG board(xds100v1 usb) & also restart PC many times but didn't get any permanent solution.

    Hi Ashok,

    This seems like a design issue. Please check your board for any noise and also check the voltage levels on your board.

    Hi Gautam,

         We are facing the same problem as Ashok. Following is the detailed description.

    Setup:

     1) USB Docking station XDS100 V1.

     2) Software Tool: CCS V5.5.0

     3) F28027 Control card.

     4) OS: Windows  XP.

     5) Customized F28027 application board (Programming via Flat cable (J2 connector) )

    Description:

          We are able to load RAM as well as FLASH based application software in on-board F28027 Control card. Till now we have not faced problem with this setup.

         The problem occurs with our Customized F28027 application board. We are programming this board via J2 connector on XDS100 using flat cable. We tried to load both RAM and FLASH applications, it worked OK with RAM based application but behavior with FLASH based application is random. 

         Once the FLASH based application is downloaded successfully it wont give problem for few iterations but at some point it starts to give error while loading "C28xx: Flash Programmer: Error encountered when writing to flash memory". Again this continues for some number of iterations. We have checked the voltage level on application board (VDDIO = 3.3 V and VDD = 1.95 V) and it seems ok. 

         We are not able to conclude if the problem is on the application board or XDS100 board. Please suggest.

    Please check the status of your JTAG pins. Following the same setup on c20000 launchpad would help you eliminate this error. So at first compare/monitor both your custom board and C2000 launchpad JTAG pins.
