InstaSPIN-BLDC with "DRV8301-69M-KIT"

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INSTASPIN-BLDC, CONTROLSUITE, TMDSCNCD28069ISO

Hi,

we use the "DRV8301-69M-KIT" to control a BLDC motor.
I know that this KIT offers InstaSPIN-FOC and InstaSPIN-Motion and it works very well.

But the question is, whether it is also possible to use the easier trapezoidal
motor control algorithm (InstaSPIN-BLDC) instead of the complex algoritms like "InstaSPIN-FOC"
and "InstaSPIN-Motion"?

It is possible to use InstaSPIN-BLDC with "DRV8301-69M-KIT"?

  • Hi Ren,

I am going to move your question to the InstaSPIN forums. They will better be able to answer your question.

  • In general yes, you should be able to use

    C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV830x-HC-C2-KIT_v105\InstaSPIN_BLDC

and switch to the F28069 build inside the project.

However, this was built for the standard F28069 which has the IQMath library in a specific location in ROM.  With the F28069M controlCARD you have it may not work...you may have to add the IQMath library to your project and play with the symbols / linker to get things to work correctly.

Or, you can buy the non-InstaSPIN TMDSCNCD28069ISO and it will work right away.
