Question Regarding Revisions for: TMS320F28069UPZT vs. 'InstaSpin Parts

If I'm not wrong, InstaSPIN parts have 'F' & 'M' eg. TMS320F28069F/M. According to the helpline if TMS320F28069UPZT RevB is an InstaSpin part then the only difference in the Functional diagram is these devices have special motor control software in execute only ROM to enable InstaSPIN-FOC or InstaSPIN-MOTION solutions.

The important thing to know, for F28069F and M based on Chris said:

"we have to include the IQMath and floating point libraries in the project, they are no longer in ROM"

Thanks for the replies.  Main crux of the question is to make sure that the TMS320F28069UPZT has the USB bug fix  - and - you can get the part without the new Insta-SPIN stuff since my application does not currently need that.

It was unclear to me if the part had been released with the USB bug fixed - and - was not an Insta-SPIN device.

According to the help line, the TMS320F28069UPZT is a Rev. A - and the new TMS320F28069 RevB parts have the Insta-Spin feature.

It was unclear if the parts that had the USB fix also had the Insta-Spin feature.

All of MCUs  that have InstaSPIN features has "F" or "M" in its name, doesn't matter its revision (for example: TMS320F28069F and TMS320F28069M). If there is no F or M, so there is no InstaSPIN inside.

I don't know about USB bug whether it has been fixed or not in the new F28069 (without F or M).

Exactly Maria, I used to think the same thing but after this post I'm somewhat puzzled! Rev A and Rev B??

Yes - I think the main USB bug fix is the issue - or at least an issue - as far as determining which silicon rev is OK - I am sure we will get some crystal clear clarification soon.
