Dear Community Members,
I am thinking of buying the TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT development board, to be able to control a BLDC motor rated slightly less than a kilowatt @300-400Vdc range. The BLDC motor that is being offered by TI (by Anaheim Automation) has lower ratings, so I checked out other higher rating motors from Anaheim Automation. I am pretty open to the torque ratings of the motor. I need advice on the following issues:
1. According to TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT documentation, the PFC stage is designed for 750W ratings. So I will have to bypass it, if I were to use a 1kW BLDC servo? Do I need to consider other factors in motor selection too, like peak stall current, continuous current, peak and continuous stall torque, or this board can drive any BLDC motor rated 1kW, @ <= 400Vdc rating, under rated conditions?
2. Say I decide to use the PFC and AC rectifier stage, and choose a BLDC motor with around 750 W, in 300-400 Vdc range. Will I need to consider the above listed factors, or any other special factors for that matter, before I buy the motor?
3. Finally, can fellow members who have worked with similar ratings BLDC motor, suggest to me which motor to buy in the above range of ratings (700-1000W, 300-400Vdc)?
Thank you very much for taking the time to read. Your input will be much appreciated!
