USING SPI LOOP BACK WITH EXTERNAL PIN CONNECTED

Hello,

We have designed a board with a F28M35H52C1 connected to an external SPI flash.

When I try to use this spi for the first time the loop back option was activated (SpiaRegs.SPICCR.bit.SPILBK = 1).

Accordind to the SPRUH22F, with this loop back option SIMO/SOMI lines are connected internally.

Does using this option with external SPI pins connected and configured to be used as spi can dammage something ?

Well, in my opinion it will not damage your hardware.

I don't think it would damage the peripheral but yes, the communication would be hampered!

What do you mean by "I don't think it will damage". In loop back mode, if there is a conflict between MOSI from dsp and MISO from the SPI, may it dammage the DSP or the SPI flash ?

For all the knowledge I've have (I don't think...)!

if there is a conflict between MOSI from dsp and MISO from the SPI, may it dammage the DSP or the SPI flash ?

You'll receive garbage values or the communication will not take place but will not damage the peripheral as said previously.
