TMS320F28377D MEP step

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28377D

Hi All,

I'm searching for the specification of HiRes PWM on a TMS320F28377D. What is the MEP stepsize on this controller at 200MHz?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Tjarco

  • Tjarco,

We expect this to be very similar to  the 150 nom / 310 ps max as seen on Concerto.  Please look for the official numbers in a future datasheet release.  Thanks,

    Kris

  • Hi Kris,

Thank you for your reply. What I don't quite understand is that a C2000 with a high core frequency c.q. 200MHz could have the same or worse MEP step than a C2000 running on 150MHZ (F28335) or 100MHz (F2808).

In this thread someone has a 150MHz Delfino core resulting in a MEP step of 130ps. I would expect a smaller MEP step at 200MHz, right? When are the official numbers expected to be released?

    Best regards,

    Tjarco

  • Tjarco,

The MEP step size is not related to the system clock frequency but the technology the device is based on.  I do not have a date for when the official numbers will be released at this time.  You should be safe expecting the 150/310 though.

  • Hi Kris,

Oke thanks. So it's just some fixed delay line logic (taps) you choose.

Is there a target for the release of official specs? Like, "summer" or "winter" or somewhere 2nd quarter of 2016?

    Best regards
