is here a different between TMS320F28069F and TMS320F28069M

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8332, TMS320F28069F, TMS320F28069M

Hi suport team,
I have build a own hardware with TMS320F28069F, TI motor driver DRV8332 and different other drivers. All things running since weeks fine.  With the next stepp - exchanging the DSP with the motion type
TMS320F28069M i get any trouble with the hardware. The DSP is running for days and anytime the DSP is damaged and will consume much more power (about 350mA @ 3,3V) . Once here was a hole in the housing. Probably a hot spot on the die.
My  question: is here a different between the FOC and the MOTION type. Maybe anybody can tell me which chip area is under the hole on the picture, to get a advice.

Thanks, Oliver

  • Hi,

There is difference between FOC and Motion type devices as libraries differ. You can explore/search the C2000 forum for differences in detail. About the hot spot, seema pretty weird as I'm seeing for the first time. Lets see what Tiers have to comment on this.

    Regards,
