InstaSPIN BLDC on boostxl-drv8301 or DRV8301-69M

I have both the boostxl-drv8301 and the DRV8301-69M kits and I want to try the BLDC option.  In the Motorware I see the FOC and the MOTION labs but no BLDC lab.  I downloaded the sprab7 BLDC lab but it appears it is for another kit.  I was under the impression that both the boostxl-drv8301 and DRV8301-69M kits supported BLDC. 

Can I run the instaSPIN BLDC lab on one of my kits or do I need to purchase another kit?

    You can run InstaSPIN-BLDC with your DRV8301 EVM Rev D.  All the projects in controlSUITE use the TMDSCNCD28035ISO for these examples.

    However, with a little SW project porting you can get them to run with the F28069MISO.  You can view the DRV8312 folder one level up and note that all of those projects are dual-built for F28035 and F28069.  You can follow that example...plus, since you are using the F28069M device you may need to use the .cmd file from MotorWare which has correct ROM addresses for the IQmath library....or just use a TMDSCNCD28035ISO card which is easier.

    BTW - if you have a high speed motor you should consider changing the phase current filters on the DRV8301 Rev D EVM.  We design these filters for InstaSPIN-FOC and they work ok for "normal" motors with InstaSPIN-BLDC, but if you have a high speed motor you will want to move this filter pole location out significantly to allow the voltage signal to pass through unfiltered. There are several posts on this topic on here...you can probably search the capacitor number from the design and find the posts quickly...sorry, I'm on mobile.

    The BOOSTXL-DRV8301 does NOT support InstaSPIN-BLDC.  It has the similar issue with the phase voltage sensing, which you can easily correct, but there also isn't a return I-total current that would typically be used for current control in InstaSPIN-BLDC. Just wasn't enough pins.
